Getting pregnant and week by week updates.

Hi all,

On our first year anniversary month, I've been surprised by a fact that I'm pregnant. This is the best gift for our wedding anniversary as well as our birthdays!

How I found out that I'm pregnant.

I only knew I'm pregnant at week 6. Due to my irregular menstrual cycle since high school, I don't really much care. My doctor kept saying it's okay and normal. Just avoid being stress.
I sent Mom at the airport that day, and I feel a bit nausea and super uncomfortable. I immediately went to the nearest restroom and vomited. I do start thinking and planting my mind, what if I'm pregnant? So, I decided to clear up my mind by buying upt at the Guardian.

Back at home, I did the test but the result was negative.

One week later, as I get back home from the office, I realise I've been super exhausted, tired and sleepy! Even without taking my shower, I can actually fell asleep like nobody business. Pheww.
One day, I started feeling weird, and curios. What if the test I did last week turn out positive?
Luckily, I still haven't cleared the dustbin yet. So, there you go. The test actually turn out positive. I was shaking and nervous.

I decided to do another test using the ClearBlue digital test the next morning. The wait finally over, "Pregnant, 3+".
I went to the doctor to confirm my pregnancy. I went back home with a piece of ultrasound photo of our little precious. Now, it's time to surprise my husband.

He came back home without any single clue. We had our dinner as usual. As I'm about to sleep, I told him that I've an early birthday gift for him. He look like he don't really mind, he just mention that why trouble myself to get him a gift. As he open the bag, he's mumbling all funny-funny things. And as he saw the photo frame and upt tests he was in utter shock and ask me non-stop question, "You're pregnant?" "Is it true?" "Is this for real?".

He can't hold himself, so he break the news to both out family. Such a bless. Alhamdulillah.

I'm now week 13.

Week by week pregnancy update.

Travelling to Singapore from JB via second link by car.

Hi all,

Last Saturday was my very first visit to Singapore. It was an unplanned trip and very random.
So, I would like to share some tips and tricks to survive JB-Singapore by car.

1) Check your passport.
Check your passport expiry date and don't forget to bring this crucial item!

2) Money (s$1-RM 2.75)
You should prepare at least s$10 before entering the border. It is compulsory to own an Autopass in Singapore. After the custom check as Singapore border, there will be a place for you to buy before cross through. Don't worry, people there very-very helpful. I manage to convert my money at Senai Airport. You can also find a lot of money exchange shop in Singapore. Don't worry!

(In case of emergency, you can call your bank or credit card hotline to update your international withdrawal.)

3) Custom
At Malaysian custom, they will check your passport and that's it. At the end of the bridge, at Singapore custom there will be another passport check and please not to forget to ask for white form before you get to the custom. Sometimes, there will be few people standing at the center passing the white form for you to fill in. Once your're in, there will be another section where you can declare item. But if there're nothing to declare you can just pass through after they check your car.

4) Autopass.
Very important. Refer 2. Must top-up at least s$10.

5) Voila, you are now in Singapore!
Drive carefully and respect other people here. They totally have different speed limit as compared to Malaysia. There're cameras everywhere. EVERYWHERE.

5) Roaming.
If you're not familiar with the roads, instead of referring the map, you can switch on your phone roaming and on you Waze apps! You're basically safe by now.

6) Parking.
To enter most of the covered parking, they will us Autopass. Remember to top up at any 7-Eleven. You can also get the parking coupon here for open air parking.

7) Take photos.
If you can't remember well, just take photos of the road or parking bay area for you to find. Well at least, you can ask around.

8) Public transport.
Here, everything super convenient. You can park your car and just ride the bus or taxi or train! You don't have to spend so much time looking for parking space especially at unfamiliar place.

9) Train.
I commute using train when I was here. I parked my car at Landmark Hotel,Bugis Rd, it's a building next to Sultan Mosque and very close to Zam Zam Restaurant. You can purchase the ticket at the machine provided there or you can also ask some suggestion from the staff regarding the one day pass.

10) Singapore-JB.
Well, everything should be very easy. At the border, make sure there enough balance in your Autopass card. They will charge you s$3.20 x 2 for their in and out toll.Other than that, if you enter at ERP time, you will be charge flat rate of s$5.00. Custom will check you passport before you can cross to Malaysia. At Malaysia custom, they will check again thoroughly you passport and you car if there any item need to be declare.

That's it.

Here some summary of my cost.
Autopass : s$10 + top-up s$30
Parking : s$1.90 (We got lucky, the machine can't read our card. End up, they deduct only for
one hour entry thou we parked for more than 5 hours)
Train: Bugis Rd-Orchard Rd : s$1.70/admit one
           Orchrd Rd-Raffles : s$1.50/admit one
           Raffles-Bugis Rd : s$1.50/admit one

Drive safe everyone!

HOW TO PLAN YOUR WEDDING MALAYSIAN WAY.

Hi,

Haven't posted for so long. So, I got the idea to write this post while I'm on my medical leave. I just can't leave without the internet. Heh.

* * *
I only get engaged for four months and thats the only period of time I have to prepare for my wedding. It's very very limited of time since these days you even need at least one year to book a venue!.

No. 1 :
FIX THE DATE.

Yup, once you know you're getting married, do immediately fix the date and confirm with both parties/ families.

No. 2 :
DOCUMENTS.

A wedding without going through the documentation hassle is not a real wedding. Hehe. Well, all different religion in Malaysia required both future bride and groom to submit few documents. I will go in detail for this one, since I'm married at different district as well as my husband. (Honestly, I put trust to my dad to do most of it. HEHE.)

Don't forget to book your kadi as well. They always have pack schedule too!!

No. 3 :
DO SOME RESEARCH.

Well this is where the fun time begin. Before you start to make any decision although you already have one in mind, please have sometime to do research on other venue/designer/company/etc. Don't just fix to one. Have more than one options. Firstly, you will save a lot of time when your date already blocked. Secondly, you will have wider range of different idea.

There're few easy ways to do research. Browse for reviews from blogs, Youtube, Facebook, Pinterest and websites. You can start sending emails to inquiry their dates and book appointments.

No. 4 :
VENUE.

This is very time consuming decision. Well, because it requires you to go to the venue and check it out. Other way to not waste your time, always email and inquiry first. From there, you can check the rates, availability dates and even menus/packages.

When you're at the venue don't just look and stare. Start to take photos for you to prepare your dream pelamin/meja makan beradap/etc.

No. 5 :
THEME COLOR.

Must be weird for not making the "Dream Pelamin" by now. Be prepared for one of the crucial imagination required item. The theme color. Honestly, to me this is one portion that is as important as anything. Don't pick it last minute cause obviously you want a very nice wedding photo of you and your future husband plus the whole family and new family in it.

Tip : Don't pick same color with your pelamin. Pick a different contra color between you and the pelamin, and between you and the family members. Don't pick same color to all above!

No. 6:
THE DREAM PELAMIN.

Any little girl dream. Yup, after all the hassle above, you're finally ready to go and plan your dream pelamin. There're many-many to choose these days. Lower range, medium range, or even higher range. Depends on you budget. From you research earlier, you always show it to them samples of your own choice. Don't worry much, put trust on them to put everything into pieces.

Always stress out what you want and what you need. And not to forget to ask what the things they don't provide.

No. 7:
THE WEDDING DRESS.

At stage No.3, you should already sending emails and inquire their availability dates and pricing range. You can start working from there if you plan to meet designers. They always-always occupied, so don't forget to make appointment first to avoid disappointment.

If you wish to just rent, make sure you try their dress and check if they have all the gears needed. Make sure you have them altered to your size from top to toe. you don't want to look like borrowing someone else's dress on your big day!

No.8 :
HANTARAN.

For Malay weddings, we have this traditions to give each other hantarans/gifts. They will exchange odd numbers of gifts and the bride gives more than the groom. So plan this with your mom as some of the gifts will be more to traditions such as Sirih Junjung.

If you plan to let other people to do for you, always make them know your theme color. But if you're hand on this, start buying all the ribbons and glue!

Get ideas at the stage No.3 when you're doing research. You can find a lot from Pinterest too!

No.9 :
DOOR GIFT & WEDDING CAKE.

Well some hotel packages provide this for you. So you can cross this from the list. But if you're not you can start booking and designing you dream wedding cake.

For door gift, well buy something worth buying. This always depends on your own budget. You can always go for lower range, medium range and higher range. Be generous.

No. 10 :
THE WEDDING ROOM

I believe people starts to forget to prepare this one. To me this is very-very essential. A very nice bed will be something a newly bride and groom need because they're really-really TIRED already all day long!!! They still need their beauty sleep and nice comfortable place to rest. Hehe.

I think thats all for now. 10 Tips to plan your wedding Malaysia way.
Happy Planning!

Gastritis Hiatal Hernia

Hi,

I just wanted to share some knowledge here with all you readers.
Earlier this month, I was admitted to hospital and diagnose with gastritis hiatal hernia.
Erm, not fun at all.

Symptom :

  1. Veryyyyyyy painful heartburn. Especially at night when Im trying to sleep.
  2. Back pain. Due to above.
  3. And because of number 1, I can't sleep through out the night. Nade. Non. :(
So, after 2 nights when back and forth as out-patient. Got my jab 3 times. At first, the doctor thought I was just normal gastric and gas. Nope, the last night we're there, I've been told to come the next day for admission to further check my abdomen.

Next morning, went back to the hospital and did ultrasound. Just incase there is a stone at my pancreas and to peek-a-boo whatever down there.HEALTHY!

Next day, meeting my surgeon in the evening. He suggested to do some procedure the next day. I start fasting from 10.00pm till the morning. Very hungryyy.

Procedure and stories:
  1. They jab me anaesthetic and voila I fall asleep.
  2. (Camera goes into my stomach)
  3. I'm awake and the doctor refuse to further inform unless my next of kin are around. Hubs when back home to take some stuff and get some rest. Waiting continues till the next day.
  4. Doctor came in and bring all his photos. Showed me and hubs, explain this and that.
  5. To cut it short and simple, my dynamic between stomach and the oesophagus no longer functional properly. Supposedly, whenever food enters, the valve will be wide open and close back to original state. However, for mine it no longer closed. Forever open...
  6. Since that's the matter, I'm currently under permanent medication. But my surgeon being so supportive. He mentioned that to avoid any operation for the time being if I can cope with the meds, Unless the meds no longer applicable even though the dosage increase, the only he will suggest to perform operation.
What contribute to this :
  1. I believe because of my food and drinks intake for the past two weeks. I've been drinking coffee the whole week. Too much food intake as well.
  2. Spicy food. (Bye :[ )
  3. Sour food.
This problem didn't happen in a day. It probably already there for many-many days/weeks/months/years. Maybe, it just been triggered by my own food and drinks intake.

Way to avoid/Solution :

  1. Stop taking coffee/tea (caffeine)
  2. Reduce spicy food. ( I'm trying to stop)
  3. Avoid chocolate
  4. Avoid any sour food/drinks (acidic)
  5. I reduce my food intake (breakfast/lunch/dinner) Actually, I won't eat 3-4 hours before sleep or just cut off my dinner.
  6. Eat meds
"Falling sick is blessing in disguise. I will take you closer to Allah, allows you to appreciate the blessing of health"

Thank you husband for taking care of me.

( Men are the protectors and maintainers [qawwamun] of women, because Allah has given the one more [strength] than the other, and because they support them from their means . . .) (Qur'an 4:34)

2015

Hi,

It's been awhile.
Soooo many things happened last year. And I wanted to share with you all.
Firstly, November 2,2013 I got engaged to the man I've been dating for almost 4 years.
Secondly, March 21,2014 I got married to the same man. :)

Alhamdullilah,Allah S.W.T granted me so many good things for the past two years.
Other than personal life, I also graduated and start working after the wedding. Syukur.

Let's keep on moving forward. There's no point looking back. We're in the journey given by God, let's do our role then.
